Planned Maintenance – UofT wireless certificate update

Scheduled for Aug 24, 08:00 - 08:30 EDT

Scheduled

Information Technology Services will be installing a new TLS certificate on August 24, 2026 at 8 a.m. Historically, the wireless authentication server’s TLS certificate has been updated annually. Beginning in 2026, updates will occur more frequently to align with the updated certificate renewal policy requirements of root-level certificate authorities. The next updates are scheduled for:
- August 24, 2026
- February 16, 2027
- August 23, 2027

What does this mean for wireless users?
Once this update is complete, wireless users may be prompted to accept or verify the new security certificate the first time they attempt to reconnect to the UofT or eduroam networks. Once accepted, the wireless device will save the new certificate and connect automatically thereafter.

Beginning Monday, August 17 at 10:00 a.m., the new certificate will be available for download from the Campus Wireless website. Please refer to the ‘Additional Resources > Certificates’ section.
